Implemetation of the Montreal Protocol in Montenegro

On the 28th of June, 2006, Montenegro, as a independent state, became the 192nd member state of the United Nations (UN), thus creating conditions for ratification all the conventions deposited with the Secretary General of the United Nations.

By means of succession, on 23rd October, 2006, Montenegro ratified the Vienna Convention, the Montreal Protocol and the Amendments to the Montreal Protocol.

Montenegro does not produce any ODS. All ODS quantities consumed are imported. All ODS imports/export and equipment that contains ODS are licensed by the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Protection (before November 2006 by the Ministry for Environmental Protection and Urban Planning).
